In 2018 I received a phone call that changed my life entirely. My grandfather was arrested for child abuse and attempted kidnapping of an 8-year-old girl. Since then, my family have tried to understand who he really was; a person that has been around us during all our lives.
Now, my grandfather, Joaquín (75), has been sentenced to twelve years and he is waiting for his entrance in prison. For the moment, he is spending his last days of freedom in a small rural town. He lives there as he was banished by my father, José (55), who has been protecting us relentlessly and fighting against his own feelings.
